solution
overview
Selecting and installing High-speed Internet access (HSIA) service isn't
rocket science--but many make it seem that way. It's simply looking and
thinking before you leap. Using our products and methods you can easily
install a complete solution at a price so low you can provide Internet
service as a no-cost amenity. It can't get much easier than that.
Viator Network's objective is simple:
educate you in what to look for in a high-speed Internet solution, help
you identify the best solution for your property, determine what near
and long term needs you may have, and then recognize when you're about
to pay too much.
Our products include our Egress Internet access management server
and Egress Port and EgressDSL connectivity devices that are
compatible with common property infrastructure. Turnkey solutions include
on-site evaluation, travel, labor, hardware, software, and technical support.
Either way, you get a well-tested solution at highly competitive prices
with unbeatable product support.
Why HSIA?
Many property owners wonder why they should offer high-speed Internet
access in the first place. There are many answers to this question, but
the simplest is because it's where the market is heading. For example,
the American Automobile Association has established HSIA as a required
amenity for hotels to achieve a four or five-diamond rating. They
recommend it for the three-diamond rating. The Mobil Travel Guide has
similar requirements. Also, since March 2002, more than half of all Internet
traffic is generated from high-speed connections, which means customers
are being more accustomed to the performance of high-speed networks. In
short, the writing is on the wall: you will need to offer high-speed Internet
access to attract and retain customers.
Our Process
In order to provide the best solution at the best price, Viator
Networks undertakes a four-step process in assisting you in determining
how best to address your needs. We use this process regardless of whether
you're interested in purchasing one of our Egress products or are
considering a turnkey solution.
The four steps are:
- Discussion - determining the requirements and goals
- Evaluation - determining the existing infrastructure
- Recommendation - suggest strategies for reaching customer's goals
- Installation - implementing the solution
This time-tested method allows us to help you determine the best solution
for each property.
Discussion
Installing HSIA isn't as simple as saying "plug me into the Internet."
Many important things need to be discussed prior to selecting a specific
solution. Issues such as determining what service works best in your property,
offering the service for free or charging a use fee, determining what
the near and long-term goals are, and whether to integrate with the PMS
so the guest has a record of service use on their folio are critical to
effective solution planning and implementation. We'll also calculate your
ROI based on a number of cost and savings scenarios. At Viator
Networks, we sit down with every customer--whether they are a hardware
or total solution customer--and ask these and other important questions.
We know what to ask and we understand how important it is to educate the
customer so they can make an informed and considered decision.
Evaluation
Viator Networks requires its total solution
customers to undertake a site evaluation prior to the selection of any
HSIA system. Without an on-site examination of your existing telecommunications
infrastructure, you run the risk of spending too much money for a solution
that may have a short life span. Internet networks are expensive enough
without requiring you to revisit the issue and the expense in less than
three years. We strongly believe that a little planning on the front end
makes for a better investment in the long run.
Recommendation
Once we have worked with the customer to determine the goals and have
identified the existing infrastructure, it is then possible to make an
intelligent recommendation to the property owner. All Viator
Networks proposals include preferred and suggested solutions for
achieving your goals. Our proposals are valid for 30 days.
Installation
Our installation process is a tightly choreographed process that merges
labor, hardware, ISP installation and testing into a 30-45 day process.
We assign each customer a project manager, who is responsible for making
sure all of the pieces of the solution come together smoothly and communicating
all relevant information to the customer. The customer also gets access
to our on-line project management system, which allows them to track the
entire installation and ordering process on a daily basis. In fact, we're
so confident we can meet our installation timelines, if we can't (with
the exception of bandwidth), we'll pay you a penalty fee for making you
wait. Who else does that?
Revenue Sharing - Not Here!
Unlike most of its competitors, Viator Networks
believes it earns a pretty good living selling and installing our
products. We do not believe revenue-sharing is a viable business model
for our company to use. Whether you purchase our Egress products
(retail or wholesale), or hire us to provide a turnkey solution, you will
pay Viator:
- no monthly use fees
- no per-port fees
- no use-based fees
- no portal use fees, or
- no shared advertising revenue fees
What does this mean? It means the property owner or the service provider
are able to establish any fee structure or business model they choose
without having to worry about paying fees to Viator. We believe that any
revenue you generate belongs to you.
